Zelensky called the terms of negotiations with Russia. “Paper”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has named five conditions for negotiations with Russia. He mentioned them in a video message following the results of November 7.
What are the conditions. According to Zelensky, in order to end the war, it is necessary to “restore the territorial integrity of [Украины]respect for the Charter of the United Nations, reparations for all damages caused by the war, punishment of every war criminal and guarantees that this will not happen again.”
General picture. Politico publication citing sources claimsthat Zelensky changed his position on negotiations with Russia after the administration of US President Joe Biden gently pushed him to do so.
U.S. officials did not tell Zelenskiy’s team that Ukraine should change its stance, the sources said, but that Kyiv should demonstrate a willingness to end the war peacefully.
Politico writes that Zelenskiy did not mention his earlier claim that negotiations were impossible with the current Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on the Politico article.
