In St. Petersburg, a criminal case has been opened under articles on organizing illegal migration (paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and organizing a criminal community (parts 1, 2 of article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). According to investigators, a deputy of one of the municipalities of St. Petersburg created a criminal community that dealt with forged documents to register foreigners with migration records. According to Kommersant, the investigation considers Viktor Danishevsky, a deputy of the Kolpino municipality and president of the Federation of Mixed Martial Arts of the Leningrad Region, to be the organizer of the grouping.
