Maya Pildes has died. “Paper”

At the age of 72, Maya Pildes, a people’s teacher of Russia, a holder of the Order of Honor and the founder of academic gymnasium No. 56 of the Petrograd region, died. About it informs press service of the Smolny.

How informs Petersburg channel, Maya Pildes died on the night of October 31 “after a long illness.” Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Alexander Belsky and Minister of Education of Russia Sergey Kravtsov.

In 1990 Maia Pildes became the director of the 56th school, which received the status of a gymnasium the following year. Under Pildes, the 56th gymnasium became the largest educational complex in the North-West region and one of the most prestigious gymnasiums in St. Petersburg. In 2017, Maija Pildes left the post of director and headed the board of the gymnasium.
