LGBT “propaganda” ban passed first reading. “Paper”

State Duma deputies adopted in the first reading bills that prohibit the “propaganda” of LGBT people among people of any age and introduce increased responsibility for it.

First Bill forbids “propaganda and justification of non-traditional sexual relations” in the media, the Internet, advertising, literature and cinema. It amends federal laws corresponding to each area.

The document introduces a ban on “propaganda” of what the Russian authorities consider “non-traditional relationships” and pedophilia, which deputies put on a par with such relationships. Marking “18+” will not save you from liability, as the document prohibits “propaganda” among people of any age.

The document also prohibits the demonstration among children of “non-traditional” sexual preferences and the dissemination of information that “can cause children to want to change their sex.”

Second Bill introduces administrative responsibility for “propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations, pedophilia and gender reassignment among children and adults.”

For citizens, the fine will be from 100 to 200 thousand rubles. For officials – from 200 to 400 thousand. Legal entities face a fine of 1 to 2 million rubles.

An aggravating factor will be “propaganda” on the Internet and the media. In this case, the fine will be from 200 to 400 thousand rubles for citizens, from 400 to 800 thousand for officials and from 2 to 5 million for legal entities.

Wherein State Duma suggested to allow access to “LGBT propaganda” on paid services by “code”, but this initiative has not yet reached the readings.
