The FSB has published statistics on Russians’ trips abroad from July to September. On this drew attention mediagroup RBC. In total, Russians have traveled abroad 9.7 million times.

According to the FSB, the number of trips of Russians to Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia and Abkhazia (the FSB considers the entry of Russians to Abkhazia as a trip to a separate country – ed.) “Paper”) has become a record for the last five years. At the same time, trips to Abkhazia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Finland accounted for 70% of all trips of Russian residents abroad.

Most of the trips, the Russians went to Abkhazia – from July to September, the FSB recorded almost 2.5 million trips in this direction. Turkey came in second with nearly 2.1 million trips. RBC noted that since 2018, Abkhazia and Turkey have been the most popular destinations among Russian residents.

Also, the list of popular destinations includes countries to which Russians left en masse after the announcement of mobilization – Kazakhstan, Georgia, Finland, the United Arab Emirates and Armenia.

The number of departures of Russians from July to September a turned out to be almost twice as much as in the period from April to June (then it amounted to 5 million). However, the number of trips in the third quarter of 2022 was almost two times less than before the coronavirus pandemic. For example, from July to September 2019, 16.1 million people left Russia.
