Abarth, the court car of Fiat, discovers the world of electric cars. You also played with its sound.

For the time being, Abarth focused only on the version of the Fiat 500 with an internal combustion engine, but now it has also ventured into the field of electromobility, when it modified a new generation of the popular piston car, which is equipped only with an electric drive.

Abarth stated that the electric platform offers interesting possibilities and for a sports car, it is most suitable for a low position thanks to the battery under the floor. Of course, it will be worse with the high weight of the entire drive, when the battery is the most important part of it.

Abarth doesn’t say how much its sports car 500e weighs, but the Fiat 500e weighs almost 1,300 kg, 300 kg more than the version with an engine. Against my Fiat, the Abarth is powerful. Thanks to the new electric motor, it gets 155 hp and 235 Nm. When selecting the comfortable Touring mode, power is reduced to 136 hp and torque to 220 Nm. This will be useful mainly for extending the range, in general you can travel with approx. 250 km. The maximum charged power is 85 kW, so the battery is charged to 80% capacity in 35 minutes. In five minutes, you can reach a distance of 40 km, which gives you the blood you need in half of the order of the pistovka. However, it will not be possible to bring out the classic charger from the home drawer and charge it overnight.

The manufacturer was a bit concerned about the dynamics, and although the flexibility of the electric drive is always nice and good, it probably won’t match Abarths with gasoline engines. Abarth stated that the electric version accelerated from 20 to 40 km/h one second faster than the Abarth 695. It accelerated from 40 to 60 km/h in 1.5 seconds, the one with the engine one second slower. Electric is a second faster from 60 to 100 km/h. The value accelerates to 0100 km/h but in seven seconds, which is on par with an Abarth with twin engines.

The first strain of electric cars is the absence of sound, which was always characteristic of the Abarth with its beautiful exhaust pipe. The electric Abarth 500e has the mandatory AVAS sound generator, but Abarth has tuned it so that it emits at least a little bit of character within the limits of the boring legal norms.

For a fee, you can have a generator that emits a sound reminiscent of a classic Abartha. Together with the new generation, a limited edition Abarth 500e Scorpionissima was presented, this car will only be 1949 as a reminder of the year of creation of the characters. The edition will be produced in bright green or blue, it will have the original 18 wheels, full equipment and many other details.
