The Punta Umbría City Council will impose tomorrow, Saturday, May 13, the Gold Medal of the city to the Hermandad de la Santa Cruz, the essence of the pilgrimage of the municipality, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of its foundation.
The proposal was approved in plenary and tomorrow the solemn act of imposition of the medal will be held by the mayoress, Aurora Águedo Borrero.
On this special day for pilgrims from Punta Umbria there will be an extraordinary procession, which will depart at 8:00 p.m. from the headquarters of the brotherhood of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, in the Galeón building.
Tour of the Santa Cruz to the City Hall of Punta
He will take a tour to City hall in the company of drummers. The procession will go through Avenida de la Marina and Avenida de Andalucía up to the Town Hall.
Already in the City Hall, at 9:30 p.m., a Solemn Mass will be celebrated for the 75th anniversary, officiated by the spiritual director of the entity, Juan Antonio Sosa Sosa, and sung by a polyphonic choir.
In this act, the mayoress will award him the decoration of the Holy Cross, to later continue with the procession through the streets of the town, this time together with the Band of Bugles and Drums of the Brotherhood of the Nazarene of Huelva.
