And it does so in a very special year as it commemorates the 75th anniversary of its silver suit, an anniversary that this brotherhood has been celebrating for weeks with exhibitions, conferences and cults.
This Thursday the Holy Cross is exposed in its chapel to be venerated throughout the day by the faithful. It will be at ten o’clock at night when the celebration of the Exaltation, Veneration and Ascent to its processional step of the Santa Cruz de la Calle Sevilla takes place.
On Friday, at eight in the evening, from the Cuartel de la Civil Guard The parade will begin and the entrance to the municipality of the Ntra. Sra. de la Victoria de las Cigarreras de Sevilla Music Band. Likewise, at ten o’clock at night the Band of Bugles and Drums of the Holy Christ of the Three Falls of Triana will make their entrance from the hermitage of San Sebastián to the chapel of the Holy Cross.
Both bands will later participate in the Offering of Flowers to the Patron Saint of La Palma, the Virgen del Valle. A procession that will leave from the chapel of the Holy Cross at eleven o’clock at night, which will also include the queens of the festivities, the Governing Board and the brothers and sisters of the Holy Cross who will accompany the Simpecado until they reach the plants of the Virgin of the Valley
On Saturday, the 13th, the festivities begin at eight in the morning with the Diana Floreada by the Nuestra Señora del Carmen Music Band of Villalba del Alcor. She will tour part of the urban fabric of the town, visiting the homes of the queens of the festivities, members of the Board of the Brotherhood, the mayor of the city, Manuel García Félix, among others.
In the afternoon, at half past six, the Romerito will begin, made up of horsemen, charrets, cars, manolas and artistic floats. Carmelo el Tamborilero, the Municipal Band of Music Our Lady of the Valley of La Palma, and the Band of Music Our Lady of Albricias of El Cerro del Andévalo will play the musical notes during the tour.
Sunday’s day will begin at ten in the morning with the transfer of the Holy Cross from its chapel to the Parish Church of San Juan Bautista. She will be accompanied by the Ntra. Sra. del Valle de La Palma Municipal Band and the Ntra. Sra. del Carmen de Salteras Philharmonic Society.
At eleven o’clock in the morning there will be the Main Function of the Institute where the brotherhood will make public Protestation of Catholic Faith. The Bugle and Drum Band of Our Lady of the Sun of Seville will premiere a march dedicated to the Holy Cross, thus commemorating the LXXV anniversary of its Silver Suit.
When the Eucharist ends, around twelve, the procession of the Holy Cross will begin. It is scheduled to be collected from the chapel around four in the afternoon. Musically, the procession will be accompanied by Carmelo the drummer, Band of Bugles and Drums Our Lady of the Sun of Seville and the Philharmonic Society Our Lady of Carmen de Salteras.
At ten o’clock at night, sevillanas dances are organized at the doors of the Santa Cruz chapel. Then, at 11:30 a.m. a children’s fire bull will be burned, and at midnight, as the end of the festivities, a fire bull for adults will be burned.
All these acts and cults will be presided over by the queen of the festivities, María del Rocío Palanco Ramírez, and her ladies; and for the child queen, Eva Díaz Calvo and her bridesmaids.
