
The headquarters of the Molino de la Vega Neighborhood Association It has been the stage in which the documentary film focused on this neighborhood, of the program ‘Huelva are its neighborhoods’an initiative of the artist Carlos Dovao, promoted by the Huelva City Hall, through the Departments of Culture and Tourism, Promotion of Huelva Abroad and the University. A work, published on the YouTube channel of the City Council, which has had the participation of numerous neighbors, neighbors and institutions in this neighborhood.
The mayor of Huelva, Gabriel Cruz, has pointed out that “with the voices of the residents of the WindmillWith their anecdotes, experiences, memories, longings, Davao and his team have produced a documentary that has moved us, a collective portrait of a neighborhood that brings together the most outstanding features that define our city”.
According to Cruz, “each neighborhood in Huelva hides its own nuances, worthy of being discovered and valued, and among those of the Molino are its hospitality, its cheerful character, its connection to Galicia, its solidarity or its rociero character, among others many”.
The mayor has congratulated Dovao for the painting made by the artist as he passes through this neighborhood, a replica of which has been delivered to the institutions and people who have collaborated on the documentary.
The Molino de la Vega video is the third of a collection of productions with which the City Council, through this program, intends to uncover the essence of the neighborhoods, their most beautiful, charismatic and hidden locations for many, as well as the inspirations and experiences of their neighbors, turning these documentaries into an instrument of tourist and cultural promotion, as well as local integration.
After passing through El Matadero, La Orden, Molino de la Vega, Isla Chica and Las Colonias, the program ‘Huelva son sus Barrios’ will continue its journey this Saturday in La Hispanidad, where a children’s meeting has been planned, starting from 11:00 a.m., in the Plaza de Los Descubridores.
The little ones will be the protagonists, together with the painter Carlos Dovao, of a very special morning in which they will have the opportunity to give color and life to works with the Hispanidad neighborhood as the protagonist.
