The International University of Andalusia (UNIA) has appointed the jury X UNIA Painting Awardendowed with a maximum amount of €10,000, whose objective is to support Spanish university artistic creation. The deadline for submitting works in this contest will end on the 18th.

The jury, which will evaluate the works with criteria such as originality, innovation, creativity, artistic quality, technical mastery, expressive force or adaptation to economic valuation; will be formed by Juan Antonio Alvarez, director of the Andalusian Center for Contemporary Art since 2010, who will act as president; the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Granada, Francisco J. Sanchezand the professor of Art History at the University of Seville, Andres Luque.

They are also members of the jury. Mª Dolores Sanchez and Simon Arrebolaprofessors from the Faculties of Fine Arts of the universities of Malaga and Seville, respectively; Esther Regueiracurator and researcher, and Rosa Aguilar Santosplastic artist awarded in the IX edition of the UNIA Painting Award.

The entire community of Spanish public universities can apply for this award: students, teaching and research staff, and administration and services, as well as those who have completed their studies at any Spanish public university since the 2015-2016 academic year.

Both the theme and the technique to be used will be of free choice and the size of the pieces, whether one or several, must be less than 150 x 150 cm. The established requirements are that the works presented have not been awarded prizes in other contests and are free of rights that third parties may hold.
