The Councilor for Commerce and Markets of Huelva City Hall, Tanya Gonzalez; accompanied by Luis Benítez, from the Vam8os Social Action Association; have presented this Wednesday the II Beer Fair ‘Sun Beer Fest’ of Huelvawhich will be held from May 19 to 21 at the tents on Avenida de Andalucía. A gastronomic, social, cultural and tourist event, promoted by BE FourElements and EKHO Eventos and sponsored by the Provincial Council, Mahou San Miguel, Heineken Cruzcampo and Royal Bliss.
Regarding the new edition, Tania González explained that “the most important novelty is the change of location to make the event grow in a broader and more appropriate environment given the weather situation we are experiencing due to the heat.” Likewise, the Fair will increase the number of days this year, since it will start on Thursday from 7:00 p.m.
The mayor has encouraged citizens to enjoy an event that “will allow us to taste craft beers of different types and places and in which there will also be a strong presence of gastronomy.” Likewise, he highlighted “the strong inclusive component that will once again have” a fair with a heart, accessible to everyone.
For his part, Luis Benítez has given an account of the programming of a second edition that “will experience a substantial change thanks to a new space and where beer will once again serve as a point of social connection.” However, it has also reported the presence of a stand for Huelva wines from Bodegas del Socorro and, like last year, its own space for Huelva gastronomy, thanks to the Bareca association, which through local restaurant businesses will be in charge of selling food at six points.
In order to involve the public with the fair from the first day, on Thursday the event will start with a ‘happy hour’. From this day until Sunday, the venue will host different musical performances, tastings and tastings of the different exhibitors of craft beer from different parts of Spain, including those from Huelva: Rubens, Colombina and Folks.
The concerts planned in the venue are those of Micky Rodriguez, DJ in charge of entertaining Friday night (9:00 p.m.); the bands jane doe (2:00 p.m.) and Point and Followed (21:00) who will perform on Saturday; and the group of The movewhich will close the fair.
The Fair will have a space reserved for people with functional diversity near the stage, low tables with preference for people with reduced mobility, sensitive staff at the event, a sign language interpreter for the concert on Saturday night, adapted bathrooms, pictograms distributed throughout the event space and a web address with the gastronomic offer and drinks for blind people or people with reduced visibility. As last year, a purple point will be set up to raise awareness and serve as a safe space.
The festival schedule will be as follows: on Thursday, May 18, at 7:00 p.m., the starting signal will be given with happy hours and offers in all beers to inaugurate the fair in style. The hours on Friday and Saturday will be from 1:00 p.m. to midnight, and on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
