In the capital of Laos, Vientiane, the “Immortal Regiment” was held.
Before the start of the action, Russian diplomats and the top leadership of the Laotian Ministry of Defense laid wreaths at the monument to Soviet pilots who died during the war in Indochina.

Many Laotians graduated from Soviet and Russian civilian universities and military schools; Russian servicemen are now taking part in demining the territory of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. So in the column of the “Immortal Regiment” in Laos, they always go side by side all together – Russians and Laotians.

And the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Laos Vladimir Kalinin took part in another event that has already become traditional on Victory Day – together with his colleague, Ambassador of Mongolia to Laos Zhamsrangiyny Byambasuren, in memory of the feat of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War in the capital’s “Garden of Memory” he planted a tree. In this, the heads of the two diplomatic missions were helped by schoolchildren studying at the school at the Russian Embassy in Vientiane.
