Former Prime Minister of Italy Silvio Berlusconi gave an interview to the Italian TV channel Sky TG24, during which he made a number of high-profile statements.
The effect of an exploding bomb was produced by the ex-premier’s statement that few people in the world today take Europe into account.
– If China (I say this, of course, exaggerating), one day decides to occupy Italy or maybe some other European country, then we would have absolutely no idea how to deal with it all, and the best of what we could do is to go to school to learn Chinese. Berlusconi said.
He believes that the Europe’s authority in the world has fallen due to uncoordinated and imperfect military policy. And I am sure that even today the European states need to strengthen military cooperation and increase total military spending. Berlusconi also considers it necessary to form a joint rapid reaction force, the minimum number of which should be about 300,000 troops.
At the same time, the politician believes that not everything is lost for the Old World, and Europe can regain its position as the “protagonist of the great global challenges.” He considers “Chinese imperialism” to be one such challenge.
