The general secretary of HuelvaBerta Centeno, the candidate for Mayor of Huelva, Pilar Miranda and Patricia del Pozo, member of the Executive Committee of the PP Andalusian, have held a meeting this Friday in which they have highlighted “the progress that the education in the province with the Government of Juanma Moreno in the Junta de Andalucía».

During the meeting, in which members of Pilar Miranda’s candidacy participated, Del Pozo explained the planning for Huelva in the medium and long term, as well as those that have already been carried out in these four years that have made possible a ” quality education”.

“Only in the capital, between the completed projects and those that are underway, there have been 49 actions worth 26 million euros, which demonstrates the Board’s firm commitment to education and the educational infrastructures of the city to pay off a debt that the previous socialist governments left behind”, assured Patricia del Pozo.

Among the actions, the new CEIP of the Ensanche Sur has stood out, which in the next academic year 2023-24 will be the first public school in the center of Huelva and the IES La Rábida, in which a significant investment has been made for their comprehensive rehabilitation.

For her part, the candidate for Mayor of Huelva from the Popular Party, Pilar Miranda, has insisted on the importance of institutional collaboration, “it is essential that we all row together in the same direction to move forward, we must flee from confrontation and advocate dialogue, I will not tire of repeating it.” In this sense, Miranda recalled that having a government that is friendly to Huelva in the Junta de Andalucía “has resulted in enormous development for Huelva in all aspects, and in education as well.”

With regard to education, Pilar Miranda’s candidacy includes in its program the fitting out of several study rooms in the municipal spaces of the city, “in order to respond to one of the most important demands of the educational community, in this case of the students, and that the students of each neighborhood have adequate environments for the study”, explained the candidate. These study rooms will be equipped with an internet connection and will have extensive opening hours, which will be reinforced during exam times.

Finally, Centeno has emphasized “the commitment to public education of the Junta de Andalucía, not only in educational infrastructures such as the Colegio del Ensanche and the Instituto La Rábida, or the expansion that has been carried out in the IES Alto Conquero We also have to talk about educational support from the Andalusian Government to families with the school voucher, which shows that a better education was possible in Andalusia”.
