From May 15 to May 20, the final stage of the All-Russian football competition among teams of orphanages and boarding schools “The Future Depends on You” will be held in the “Velvet Seasons” sports quarter. The tournament in Sochi will be held with the participation of young football players from all over Russia.
Qualifying city stages of the competition were held in 7 regions from March to April. 16 teams representing orphanages and boarding schools, which became winners in their districts, reached the final. The federal territory “Sirius” in Sochi will host teams from Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, the Republic of Mari El, Tver, Kirov and Omsk regions, as well as from the cities of Orenburg, Maykop, Magadan, Krasnoyarsk and Artyom.
The guys will be divided into two age categories: 2008-2009 and 2010-2011. Within 5 days they will fight for the main prize – a trip to the football summer camp of the FC Barcelona Academy in Sochi, where the winners of the tournament “The Future Depends on You” will be trained according to the methodology of a club with a world history.
In addition to football, the children will visit the Sochi Park amusement park. They will also have a tour of the FISHT stadium, where the Sochi football team plays home matches in the Russian Premier League. Also, Forotech specialists prepared for the participants a career guidance program “SkillCity City of Skills” as part of the career guidance and cybersocialization project of the “Reference and game service “City of Skills SkillCity”. In an interactive form, the children will be told about modern digital professions, about how sports and digital are connected , what technologies are in modern sports, as well as what digital professions have appeared in sports.
For children who are interested in the profession of a journalist, MegaFon organizes a special program. Each team will take a pupil who will prepare reports about her performance at the tournament. During the competition, the guys will take a master class on commenting, learn about the intricacies of the work of a sports journalist, as well as photo and video journalism.
The Future Depends on You competition has been held since 2005. The project originated from the initiative of MegaFon employees, which was developed and turned into an all-Russian championship. Today, this is the largest federal project for children in state care, aimed not only at their physical development, but also at developing their communication skills and improving self-esteem, at creating motivation for learning and development. And that’s not all, the project is designed to provide an opportunity to choose a future profession, as well as help find new families. Often parents decide to adopt a child or teenager precisely because of his participation in the tournament.
Several thousand Russian children take part in the project every year. For 18 years, more than 41 thousand children have played in the tournament – 5,130 teams from 140 cities. Partners in organizing tournaments are the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of Russia and the Russian Football Union.
