The Russians told what additional measures of social support are needed in the country so that the standard of living of the population rises and the number of poor people decreases. So, more than half of the respondents (57%) said that, first of all, it is necessary to increase pensions. They talk about it results of a survey site KP.RU.
More 43% of Russians believe that raising the minimum wage will help improve the situation.
One third of respondents (31%) believe that in Russia it is necessary to start feeding all schoolchildren for free, this will help relieve the financial burden on parents. And another 24% continued to make all kindergartens free of charge. Then not only the poverty level will decrease, but the birth rate will also increase, the participants of the study are sure.
18% of Russians offer to extend and expand the preferential mortgage program. To date, the housing problem is one of the most acute in the country. Most of the population cannot afford to buy an apartment or a house, they have to take out loans, but the conditions of even the most profitable mortgage still remain unbearable, so the expansion of benefits will be a real salvation, the Russians believe.
16% say that it is the poor who need help, and not everyone in a row, so it is necessary to develop additional support measures for them. For example, it is possible to give free good food to everyone who is still below the poverty line today, as well as to large families, so that children do not need anything.
10% of Russians believe that the country should establish state payments for good work. This will be an excellent incentive for all categories of the population at once.
6% offer to establish paternal capital, in addition to maternal capital, this will help improve the demographic situation and improve the well-being of young families.
A 5% chose the “other” option. Someone thinks that it is tedious to lower the retirement age or introduce regional allowances. And only 4% believe that the existing support measures in the country are sufficient.
The survey was conducted among subscribers of the KP.RU website in the social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki, as well as in Telegram and Viber instant messengers. Respondents could select multiple answers. 9.9 thousand people took part in the study.
We will remind, earlier Rosstat reported that the number of poor people in Russia decreased by a million. And all thanks to social support measures. In 2022, the proportion of citizens living below the poverty line dropped to less than 10%.
