He registered unemployment in the province of Huelva during the month of April it has fallen by 4.93% compared to the previous month, that is, 1,937 fewer people, which places the province with a total of 37,330 registered unemployed (15,070 men and 22,260 women), placing it for the fourth consecutive month at the head of the decline in unemployment in Andalusia in percentage terms. By sex, 888 men and 1,049 women leave the lists of the Andalusian Employment Service to enter the labor market.

Among the causes of this significant decline is the reactivation of the hotel and service sector that began during the Easter holidays, and the opening of hotel and tourist accommodation companies both on the coast and in rural areas. The agricultural sector continues incorporating workers in the tasks of harvesting strawberries and red fruits, also observing a significant increase in people who have found their first job.

The percentage drop in unemployment has been experienced in all sectors. The greatest percentage drop was registered in the Previously Unemployed group with -7.95%, (269 fewer people) and followed by Agriculture, with -6.52% (395 fewer people). In Services it has fallen by -4.46% (which has caused a decrease of 1,101 registered unemployed). Construction decreases by -3.64% (118 fewer people) and, finally, it is Industry that decreases by -2.85% (54 fewer people).

Compared to the same month last year, unemployment has fallen by 9.89%, that is, the province has 4,096 fewer unemployed. By sectors, unemployment only rises in the group Without Employment Previously, 0.58% (increasing by 18 people), while it fell in the rest of the productive segments, the most prominent being Agriculture, with -21.07% (1,512 fewer people), Construction with -14.84% ( 544 fewer people) and the Services sector, which fell by -7.51% (with 1,915 fewer people). The Industrial sector closes this downward trend with -7.21% (143 fewer people).

38,460 new contracts

Last April, 38,460 new contracts were formalized in Huelva (19,796 men and 18,664 women), which is 2,759 less than in March and 9,723 less than in April last year. Indefinite contracts in April 2023 represent 52%, that is, 19,989 contracts, while temporary contracts stand at 48% of the total, with 18,471 new contracts.

Since the beginning of the year, the province has registered 139,853 new contracts, 59,906 fewer contracts than a year ago, which is 29.9% less than last year. Of the total accumulated during the first four months of 2023, new permanent contracts add up to 74,136 (53%) and 65,717 have been temporary contracts (47%).

16,748 more affiliations

The province has closed the month of April with an average affiliation of 265,556 people in Social Security, which means an increase of 16,748 affiliates compared to the previous month and 4,697 affiliates compared to April 2022.

Regarding the self-employed regime, the province closed the month with an average affiliation of 29,358 registered, which represents an increase of 234 more than last March and 68 more than in April 2022.
