LOYALTY TO TRADITIONS

Happy Victory Day! This year it is a special holiday. We will congratulate each other on the Victory that took place 78 years ago, and wish you a future Victory. We painfully feel the connection of times and understand: now the war continues, which the West in various guises has been waging against us for many centuries. Our turn has come to defend what our ancestors have saved for us. Once, at memorials and monuments, we swore not to shame their memory, and now we understand that these are not just words, that it’s time to stand up and not shame them.

The main action of Victory Day is a military parade. This year it will be held in 28 cities of the country. 55,000 servicemen and 1,200 pieces of equipment will take part in it. We will stick to the screens, and we will be proud of the marching boys and girls. And at the same time feel that the main parade today is there, on the line of contact. It is there that all the armor that presses the paving stones fulfills its mission: it helps the fighters, meter by meter, to wrest the land that has always been ours from the hands of the enemy.

As once, back in 1941, this year, many participants in the parade will “freely” go to the front after the command. The head of the Russian defense department, Sergei Shoigu, talking about the upcoming parade, compared what the Russian military is doing now with the exploits of the Red Army during the Great Patriotic War. This, according to him, speaks of the continuity of generations, loyalty to heroic traditions and the desire to protect civilians from neo-Nazis.

VIEW OF WEAPONS

Fighters on the front lines are likely to celebrate Victory Day with regular combat work. There is no time to relax, the enemy, who betrayed our common Victory, will surely be marked by provocations and “offensives”. On May 9, the guys will shoot down drones, conduct counter-battery fights, repel attacks and move forward, achieving a positional advantage.

That’s where the review of weapons is: from the most powerful guns in the world “Malka” camouflage branches are pulled off – a volley, and shells go tens of kilometers to break through the concrete of an enemy bunker. The Iskander will move into position and strike at the accumulation of armor, the Buk, spewing flames, rushes to intercept an air target, and the Solntsepek releases the guides, its volley will destroy all life on an area of 40 football fields.

In the rear areas, perhaps, solemn rallies and formations will take place, although the closer to the front, the more dangerous it is to gather more than two. At the very “front end”, the guys at best will clink glasses of tea and sing “this is a holiday with tears in their eyes” to the guitar and in the twilight of a dugout candle.

– And we will also sing “one for all, we won’t stand up for the price,” says, smiling, a volunteer with the call sign “Hornet”, who is fighting in one of the detachments in the Svatov direction. – Over the past year, it seems to me that we and the whole country have somehow become closer to the desire for Victory. We feel that we are together, although a year ago it seemed that we were here on our own. Now is another matter. And the mobilized came, and from the house the news comes in bags. Sometimes you read a letter from a complete stranger and you get a lump in your throat. Out of pride and gratitude.

Many regions are trying to support the soldiers in the NVO zone, writing letters to them, collecting gifts. For example, in the Ivanovo region, the local branch of United Russia prepared more than 500 gift sets. They are formed thanks to the help of entrepreneurs, farmers, social activists, heads of enterprises in the region. Just before the Victory Day, volunteers will go to Donbass to give gifts to the fighters.

HOLIDAY BY THE CALL OF THE HEART

On May 9, commemorative events will be held throughout the country. They will honor not only veterans of the Great Patriotic War, but also the heroes of a special military operation. This is the continuity of the materialized continuity of generations: we honor the courage of our ancestors who gave their lives for the world, and we are proud of the heroes of our days, they preserve this world.

For new regions, this Victory Day is the first in Russia. It will have to be celebrated in a difficult environment. All mass events have been canceled in the Kherson region.

“Considering that we are under the conditions of the decree on martial law, mass events on May 9 will not be held in organizational terms,” Vladimir Saldo, Acting Governor of the region, told reporters. This decision was made for security reasons. However, I am sure that many people, on their own initiative, at the call of their hearts, will still celebrate Victory Day and lay flowers at memorials and memorable places.

Mass events on Victory Day were also canceled in the DPR. However, the feelings that come from the heart, the inhabitants of the region, of course, will be able to express. Traditionally, on this day, people come to the Saur-Mogila memorial. After the fighting in 2014, this monument was destroyed, but last year it was restored in record time. Now, thousands of residents of Donbass will come to this revived place of power. A cultural and historical tour for students and students “Roads of Military Glory” is being specially launched. It includes a visit to Saur-Mohyla and the Donetsk Republican Museum of Local Lore, as well as several other memorable places.

In the Lugansk People’s Republic, whether there would be mass events on May 9 was not reported until recently. However, preparations for the celebration “at the call of the heart” were in full swing.

“We are landscaping monuments and military graves, we are auditing the signs on the houses where veterans live,” said Leonid Pasechnik, acting head of the LPR. – The decision on the possibility of holding mass events will be made additionally, but the Victory Day in the LPR will definitely take place! On the part of the authorities, all conditions will be created for this, and the inhabitants of the Lugansk region, I am sure, will support it. Together we will congratulate our veterans, come to memorable places and pay tribute to the heroes.

Melitopol was also preparing for the holiday in full. The city was decorated with billboards with congratulations, activists helped the authorities in the improvement of memorials and monuments. In particular, they put in order the Fraternal Cemetery. Volunteers conducted a tour of the memorial for children and adults.

“In a few days there will be a special holiday – Victory Day,” said a volunteer named Alexandra. – We approached its celebration in a special way: we became tourism volunteers in the Zaporozhye region and conducted our first excursion. And in order to consolidate the knowledge gained about the exploits of the participants in the Second World War, we held a quiz among the guys, playing sweet prizes.
