Valentin Yudashkin died at the age of 60. A month ago, he came to the anniversary of Vladimir Vinokur – talked, smiled, made plans. But the insidious illness did not give Yudashkin a chance to live and work on … Next to the fashion designer was always (and until the last minute) the faithful wife Marina. And the affairs of the Fashion House Valentin Yudashkin for the last 11 years have been helped by his only daughter Galina Yudashkina. She worked as the creative director of her father’s Fashion House, supervised the affairs of his three Moscow stores, the release of collections, and managed the brand’s business. 32-year-old Galina has three small children (sons and a daughter), recently Yudashkina controlled business and creativity “on a remote basis”, as she lived in Dubai, where her husband has a business. Now the management of the Fashion House will pass completely into the hands of Galina Yudashkina.
Galina Yudashkina recently talked about dad: “I believe that the disease did not interfere in any way – it only strengthened our family. We poke daddy all the time. Just knowing dad (he’s too lazy to go somewhere, he doesn’t want to, he’s tired) – and here my mother and I do not give him a descent: “no, we all go together, with the family, it’s okay if we’re tired.” Let’s not relax!”
Now the family is preparing to say goodbye to Valentin Yudashkin. And family friends remember the maestro of fashion.
Anita Tsoi for many years she was friends with the couturier family: “Valya worked until the last moment, did not let go of the pencil. Until recently, he went to the podium, even when it was very difficult for him. Many thanks to you, Marinochka, for helping him prolong his life with real dreams, with new goals that he loved to set and always set. In such a difficult situation for the whole country, Valentin remained a faithful citizen of Russia to the last – he did not leave anywhere, he lived here and died here. May the earth rest in peace for you.”

He was an amazing person. Despite the fact that he was never tough and brutal, on the contrary, rather soft and miniature, but it was difficult to find a more courageous and strong-willed man. This is also proved by his struggle with a monstrous disease, when doctors gave him no more than a year, but he was with us much longer. He was absolutely fearless, fair, honest, even in the most difficult moments he did not follow anyone’s lead, he always expressed his opinion. That’s what fascinated me about him. He knew how to go against the current. And, of course, it is impossible not to mention his incredible talent! He was the first one of our fashion designers to be invited to show as part of the Paris Haute Couture Week – this is a worldwide recognition. There is no way to get a place there.”
Nadezhda Babkina: “Valya was an artist kissed by God and a very subtle, vulnerable person of the kindest soul. Despite the outward fragility, he possessed colossal inner strength. This force helped him for many years to fight a serious illness and continue to create. Valya had an invaluable gift to create beauty and generously share it with others. He radiated light. My sincere condolences to family and friends.”
