“We continue to introduce the heroes of the special operation “Z” – participants in the hostilities in the Donbass. Privates, sergeants, corporals and officers who showed their professional experience, character and completed combat missions. Their determination, assertiveness and combat experience in the Russian Ministry of Defense, in police units Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics give the highest rating.
Our heroes thwarted the attacks and prevented the counteroffensive of the nationalists, for which they received state awards. But they do not serve for the sake of praise and awards. The servicemen are sure that the enemy has no chance of success, because Donbass and Russia are fighting for a just cause.
“Courageous deeds are more reliable than words,” said Generalissimo Alexander Suvorov, who did not lose a single battle. And he gave instructions to the soldiers: “Three will jump – stab the first, shoot the second, the third bayonet Karachun!”.

Guard Lieutenant Nikolai Katunin
“The airborne assault unit under the command of Guards Lieutenant Nikolai Katunin carried out a combat mission to liberate one of the settlements from the armed formations of Ukrainian nationalists. Moving along the forest belt, Nikolai discovered a group of armed nationalists, significantly outnumbering Russian military personnel. Competently using the terrain, due to the high level tactical training, Katunin’s unit, having taken advantageous firing positions, entered the battle with the enemy.With a surprise attack, Katunin pinned down the actions of the nationalists and introduced panic into their ranks.During the battle, despite the fire impact of the nationalists, Nikolai, using the forces of a subordinate detachment, inflicted significant damage on Ukrainian militants. The result of the courageous and coordinated actions of the unit entrusted to Katunin was the destruction of a large number of enemy manpower and armored vehicles, as well as a warehouse with ammunition for small arms and grenade launchers.
BROUGHT THE CAR WITH THE WOUNDED
Ensign Alim Dzamikhov
“During the relocation of the personnel of one of the units of the Russian troops, the enemy opened mortar fire on the convoy, which included the foreman of the automobile company, Ensign Alim Dzamikhov. Some of the vehicles moving in the convoy were damaged and were unable to continue moving. Having assessed the situation, they did not losing self-control in conditions associated with a risk to life, Dzamikhov began the evacuation of personnel, organizing the loading of military personnel into a car.Confidently maneuvering over rough terrain, at night, Dzamikhov brought the car with personnel out of the blow.Thanks to decisive and competent Ensign Alim Dzamikhov succeeded in taking out more than 35 people, including wounded servicemen, from under the mortar fire of the enemy, and prevented the destruction of the equipment entrusted to him.
STOPPED REGULAR APU RAIDS
Guards Private Yaroslav Malinnikov
“The shooter – the operator of the airborne assault platoon of the guard, Private Yaroslav Malinnikov, as part of his unit, performed the task of searching for Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups. Moving along the route, Malinnikov discovered armed Ukrainian militants moving towards the area where our units were located. Instantly assessing the situation, despite to the superior forces of the nationalists, Yaroslav decided to engage the enemy. Properly using the conditions of the terrain, taking an advantageous position, Malinnikov destroyed the machine-gun crew of the enemy with aimed fire from standard weapons. As a result of the clash, the armed nationalists, having suffered losses, retreated. Bold and decisive actions the guards of private Yaroslav Malinnikov allowed to stop the activities of an armed group of the enemy in a given area.
DIVERSTRATED A GROUP OF saboteurs
Corporal Vitaly Vertiev
“The unit, which includes Corporal Vitaly Vertiev, carried out a combat mission to liberate one of the settlements from Ukrainian nationalists. Moving along a given route, Vertiev drew attention to the movement in the courtyard of a private household. Giving a signal to his comrades, the group, which included Vitaly , secretly approached the specified household to inspect and check the possible location of enemy forces. At that moment, fire was opened on the group from the window of an apartment building. As a result, Corporal Vertiev received a gunshot wound. Having assessed the situation, despite the threat to life, Vitaly did not leave the battle , and decided to fire distracting the enemy.Using the conditions of the terrain, taking a convenient position for firing back, Vertiev pinned down the actions of the enemy, who fortified in a residential building, firing aimed fire at him.Thanks to the courageous actions of Corporal Vitaly Vertiev, the enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group was destroyed . During the battle, Vitaly personally destroyed three nationalists. “
