Police in the small town of Harahan in the US state of Louisiana are investigating the circumstances of the tragic death of a six-year-old girl. At the moment, the girlfriend of the father of the child is considered the main suspect in the murder.
The girl’s father in the morning discovered the disappearance of his six-year-old daughter and the girlfriend with whom he lived recently, and rushed to the police.
The investigation did not take long – soon the girl’s body was found in a large plastic bucket on the lawn near her mother’s house.
The medical examiner determined the violent cause of death and numerous injuries on the child’s body.
The study of records from surveillance cameras soon made it possible to identify the main suspect – he turned out to be the girl’s father’s partner, a certain Hannah Landon. The footage captured by one of the cameras clearly shows a woman walking down the street and pulling a cart with a bucket, in which the remains of a child were later found.
At the moment, Landon is under arrest and will soon be taken to the hospital for examination. The police are yet to release other details of the investigation.
