In the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, border guards revealed four facts of violations of forest legislation in the border areas of the region, committed by local residents. This was reported by the press service of the Border Department of the FSB of Russia for the KChR.
These citizens are prosecuted under Part 1 of Art. 260 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Illegal felling of forest plantations”.
The border department reminds residents and guests of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic that in the Russian Federation the process of deforestation is regulated at the legislative level. For the illegal destruction of the forest (depending on the amount of damage caused), administrative or criminal liability is provided.
