Started in the Moscow Manege educational marathon “Knowledge. First”. Scientists, politicians, journalists discuss with young people a variety of topics, from artificial intelligence to cultural differences between peoples. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov came to tell schoolchildren and students about the lies being told in the West about Russia.
– They do not tell that after the collapse of the Soviet Union NATO expanded towards Russia six times! They deceived Gorbachev – we had a honeymoon with the West, we thought they were so honest … NATO is not an instrument of peace, but a tool of confrontation. This is a war machine,” said the presidential press secretary.
Peskov also called the destruction of the Russian economy a lie. Last year, when drafting the budget, the government planned to reduce the budget by 0.8% of GDP. But already now, according to the Ministry of Economy, it will grow by 1.2%.
– It’s fantastic in the current conditions. It is important to compare that they (Western analysts – ed.) give the same forecast for GDP growth for France. Russia under sanctions is developing at the same pace as France! – said Dmitry Sergeevich, adding that the economy of Germany this year will generally sag by 0.1%.

This is also a lie, – Dmitry Sergeevich assured.
When it came to questions from the audience, the first thing Peskov was asked about reactions to the decision of the son to go to the Donbass.
– Like any parent. Nervous. They spoke to him seriously, but he is an adult, not 18 years old. The fate was not easy … He made a decision, and I treated him with respect. I’m proud of him, – said the press secretary of the president.
