The municipal sports hall of Saint Bartholomew of the Tower will host this coming weekend the fWestern ace of the Andalusian Volleyball Championship, cadet-female category, CADEBA 2023with the participation of twelve clubs from the provinces of Huelva, Seville, Cádiz and Córdoba.

The president of the Provincial Council and mayoress of San Bartolomé de la Torre, Mª Eugenia Limón; the vice president of the Andalusian Volleyball Federation, Magín Fernández; and the president of the San Bartolomé de la Torre Volleyball Sports Club, José María Matilde, this morning presented this sporting event that will be held in a municipality with a great volleyball tradition in the province of Huelva such as San Bartolomé de la Torre.

Not in vain, and as the president of the Provincial Council has recalled, “2023 marks the twentieth anniversary of CD Voleibol San Bartolomé and 50 years since, for the first time, a local male children’s team registered in a federated competition andevaleña Throughout these 20 years, the club has been participating uninterruptedly in official competition with base category teams, regularly participating in the CADEBA regional phases. In addition to contributing technicians and athletes to the different provincial and regional teams on numerous occasions.

In the last three seasons it has been able to register a senior team in the 1st Women’s Andalusian Division that gives continuity to the club’s sports project, from the base to the senior category. The first team bears the name of our town and our province in Andalusia, thanks to the support of various public and private entities, among which we can highlight the University of Huelva, an institution with which it has been collaborating in recent seasons”.

María Eugenia Limón has also pointed out that “the organization of sporting events has been a constant in the operation of the club since its inception, which is manifested in the organizational success of the “Puerta del Andévalo” International Tournament that has been held 16 times and has counted on the participation of teams from almost all Andalusian provinces and others such as Badajoz or Madrid as well as teams from neighboring Portugal”. In addition, the president recalled, other smaller tournaments such as bilateral and triangular tournaments and minivolleyball championships have also been organized. And in 2013 the western phase of the CADEBA female cadet was held in its 2013 edition.

As María Eugenia Limón has assured, “the realization of this sporting event in San Bartolomé de la Torre, is based on the close collaboration between the San Bartolomé de la Torre Volleyball Sports Club and the town council for the promotion of a sport of minority team that is also one of the sports with the greatest participatory equality where even female participation exceeds male participation. In addition, in these base categories, the approach to sports is encouraged for the youngest, who will be able to see the best players in this category here”.

For their part, both Magín Fernández and José María Matilde have highlighted the high level of the participating clubs, which augurs a very even and competitive tournament.

Together with CD Volleyball San BartolomeThe participation from Huelva is completed by the CV San Juan del Puerto, the CV Estuaria de Huelva and the DJA’75 from Ayamonte. The three teams classified from this western phase will participate next weekend in the Andalusian final phase to be held in Córdoba, along with the other three teams classified from the eastern phase.
